Of course it is the memories of your wedding day that are the most important, and your husband of course, but wedding stationary has a big part to play as well.<\/p>\n

The invitation sets the tone and sits centre stage in all your friend\u2019s homes for six weeks.\u00a0The place cards, thank you notes and all other bits and pieces of print will capture your day and be checked out in years to come by yourselves and the kids.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important then to get this part of the wedding right but it doesn\u2019t have to cost the earth.<\/p>\n

In days gone by DIY printing was a no-no unless you had secret late night access to the company print room.\u00a0Shhh! One of our friends went through three refills of ink cartridges and reckoned it would have cost the same to get them done professionally.<\/p>\n

Here are six easy steps to great stationery at a fraction of the cost:<\/p>\n

You are unique and it\u2019s your big day.\u00a0You don\u2019t have to go through a book of \u2018traditional\u2019 invites.\u00a0Look around for inspiration at Irish sites like\u00a0DIY Wedding<\/a>,\u00a0One Fab Day<\/a>\u00a0or go further afield for something likeEM Papers<\/a>.\u00a0If you don\u2019t like them, cuddle up with\u00a0Google<\/a>\u00a0for an hour.<\/li>\n
  2. Get decent paper that will stand the test of time.\u00a0It won\u2019t do to fold over an A4 sheet like a Kiddy\u2019s birthday card.\u00a0There is a great shop on Camden Street called\u00a0Daintree<\/a>\u00a0which will have everything you need.\u00a0It has won a bunch of awards and if you are outside Dublin, they are on the web.<\/li>\n
  3. You\u2019re sorted for ideas and paper, next up is the printer.\u00a0That one that came with the computer is making a few strange noises but they sell them cheap at the moment.\u00a0Wasn\u2019t there one in another shop for about \u20ac60?\u00a0Yes there was but then you have to pay a not so small fortune for the ink.\u00a0Club Cartridge Green<\/a>gives you a top range Brother Printer and unlimited ink for a year for only \u20ac12.99 a month, and in the second year that drops to \u20ac6.99.
